27|12|10 Fundraisder tally and mulled wine!

If I do say…(thanks to my friends, family, donaters, bidders & supporters) my party & auction were a success!!!

The auction raised nearly $4000 & we had FUN doing it. With a few party costs involved, I have calculated a profit of nearly $3000. 

Pretty incredible. Once my plane ticket is bought, I will provide a breakdown of where the money is going.

By popular demand, I was asked to post the recipe for the mulled wine I was serving at the PARTY. This recipe was passed on from my friend Pieter de Neeve.

Mulled wine

For every 1.5 liters of wine- make this syrup prior- steeping spices.

1 cup sugar

3 cups water

2 tablespoons of chopped fresh ginger

grated rind of half a lemon

grated rind of half an orange

12 whole cloves

5 sticks of cinnamon

1 teaspoon of nutmeg

2 anise stars

Syrup can be made in advance.  Add wine 20 before serving, warm, strain & ladle in mugs.  Garnish with an orange slice.
